Welcome to Disa & Skyline Whippets
Disa Whippets is located in Georgia, just 45 minutes southeast of Atlanta. First and foremost, all of our whippets live in our home and are treasured members of our family. Our journey began in 2008, with the addition of "Chaser" (Whitaker's Red, White and Blue). At that time, we were only looking for a companion for our family. Later, we decided to explore activities that our whippet would enjoy.
Skyline Whippets is located in northeast Georgia, about one hour north of Atlanta. Jennifer has been in the breed since 2003 when she welcomed home her first Whippet "Peepers" (CH Appraxin Deco I Spy). She participated in Junior Showmanship and helped Peepers finish his AKC Championship.
We both now actively compete in Conformation, Lure-Coursing, and CWA Straight Racing with our Whippets. Our dogs have been very successful both in the show ring and in performance events. We are proud to breed structurally correct dogs with wonderful temperaments that make exceptional family companions and excel in the show ring. We work in partnership with several other well respected breeders such as Cherche' and Hycks Hollow Whippets. Health testing is a priority in our breeding program, and all of our dogs can be found on OFA. We would be happy to share results or a link to OFA upon request.
We are grateful to so many breeders who continue to share their knowledge, experience, and expertise -- along with their never ending support in our endeavors. As we continue our journey, we strive to combine health, temperament, and type. We primarily breed for ourselves, but occasionally have beautiful puppies from health tested parents available as pets and conformation/performance prospects to approved homes. Our puppies are raised in house using Puppy Culture, and we go to great lengths to ensure they are properly socialized and well adjusted. We hope to remain a resource to our new puppy families for the lifetime of their new companion. Our Whippets that go to new homes are always welcome to return here at any point in their life for any reason with no questions asked. Our goal is to be as transparent as possible in all interactions, so please feel free to message us with any questions.
